Summary

In a village nestled amidst the rugged beauty of Pakistan, two families, bound by tradition and rivalry, find their fates intertwined by a tragic incident. Haider, a valiant soldier, becomes paralyzed during a rescue mission. Bound to a wheelchair, he grapples with despair and disillusionment, his dreams of a fulfilling life shattered.

Meanwhile, a young woman named Rooba, known for her independent spirit and education, returns to her village. Tragedy strikes when her brother, Bakhtu, accidentally kills a boy from the rival family during a heated argument. The village elders, upholding age-old customs, convene a jirga (council) to determine the punishment. Rooba, fearing for her brother’s life, bravely offers herself as a vani (a form of compensation) to the aggrieved family.

Rooba is sent to serve Haider, who is bitter and resentful towards the world. Initially, he sees Rooba as a burden, a symbol of his misfortune. However, as days turn into weeks, an unlikely bond forms between them. Rooba’s resilience, compassion, and unwavering support gradually chip away at Haider’s hardened exterior. He finds solace in her presence, and she, in turn, discovers a hidden strength within herself.

As their relationship deepens, they must confront the complexities of love, duty, and societal expectations. Haider’s family, driven by their own agendas, tries to manipulate the situation to their advantage. Rooba’s family, torn between protecting their daughter and upholding their honor, faces a difficult choice.

Will Haider and Rooba find happiness together, or will the weight of their circumstances and the pressures of their families tear them apart? In a society where tradition often clashes with individual desires, can their love transcend the boundaries that seek to confine them?
